A Rolls Royce that is fit for a King.....

A Most Unique and Impressive Automobile

1930 Phantom II Long Wheel Base Saloon

Custom Body by Hooper

Chassis Number 45 GN

On October 17, 1929, his excellency Sr. Marques de Larice of Spain ordered this long wheel base saloon from the London Rolls-Royce factory. Over 10 custom changes were made to the car especially for the Marques. Gunmetal brass fittings, dictograph speaking tube, P-100 Lucas "King of the Road" headlamps, dropping division window, adjustable rear seats, folding jump seats, center fitted cocktail cabinet, cigarette drawer in the center armrest, and two side wheel carriers with center hubs.

On July 4, 1930 this Royal Rolls was shipped from Pall Mall to Spain. It is thought that the car was actually ordered for Alfonso XIII, King of Spain who went into exile on April 14, 1931. No records can be found on this historic automobile between 1930 and 1984.

This new model Phantom II was first announced in September 1929 creating enormous interest. This was the first model design by Royce of a 40/50 H.P. since 1906. It coincided with the Wall Street crash and Rolls-Royce saw their orders drop off as a result.

This car was priced at $10,449 when it was new.

Sure to appreciate.

This automobile was purchased in Spain by an American in the early 1960's and was painted in black and white, Alfonso colors. A Swiss firm was commissioned to dismantle and completely restore this unique example to its previous glory. Finally in 1967, the restoration was completed and the Rolls-Royce was air shipped to its American owner.

The work done covered 18 single spaced pages, including the work that was sent to the Rolls Royce factory for rebuilding.

Since July 6, 1983 the car was displayed in the Harrah's Automobile Collection prior to its present owner purchasing it.

In excellent running condition.

Handbooks included.

The asking price is $90,000 USD

Much less than the restoration cost alone.
