We are very pleased to have in our inventory, this 1973 DeTomaso Pantera "L". The current owner is a well known motorsports promoter and has owned this car for the past 25 years. This car has had a very pampered existence and has been fully restored twice in its lifetime.

The interior is very clean and stock looking other than the steering wheel. Clearly, the owner's careful maintenance and use of the car is evident.

The engine has been treated to very modest performance upgrades including the carburetor, manifold and electronic ignition. The owner is more interested in reliability and smooth operation than challenging land speed records.

From all angles, the car is very well presented. Body seams and quality of coachwork and paint are far above the norm.

This is as mentioned an "L" car. The heavier style bumpers were part of the package. The exhaust system is in good order.

A deviation from stock are these after market, Ferrari style mirrors. They have been painted to match the car and look quite attractive.

It is understood but presently unverified that this Pantera was formerly owned by the late Gilles Villeneuve. Can any researchers verify this for us?

The front storage compartment confirms that this is a very stock car. Carpet and battery are in good condition.

This Pantera uses the two pod or nacelle type dash. Later cars had a single pod.

The valve covers are after-market. There is no issue of "over-restoration" here. The ZF works properly and shifts smoothly.

The owner has fitted his car with the rare 10 inch Campagnolo wheels. 8 inch rims are in the front. The tires are the hard to find PIrelli P-7s.

A sensible upgrade is the addition of later style hood exhaust vents.

It is our careful opinion that this is the type of Pantera that is certain to continue to escalate in value. Stock looking, well maintained cars under lengthy ownership such as this car are very hard to find.

A Boxer style, "sugar scoop" wing was added to the sail panels. This is a factory upgrade.

The car has not been raced. This shot was taken at the Montreal GP Circuit as part of a Pantera International photo-shoot.

The verdict on this great car:

Stock looking

One of the better "L" cars on the market
