Charlie Falcone's Guara and Miss Pantera Casey Dee Thornton

  • This year's event was greeted with a rare storm on the eve of the big show. On show-day, the storm had cleared out and we ended up enjoying a brisk, if not cold, but otherwise sunny Southern California day.
  • Our Pantera census was off by a third over last year's event but we still had around 40 cars and a nice representation of muscle cars, hot rods, collector cars and exotics.
  • George Pence and his sister from Pantera International set up their club store and George emceed the awards presentation. Thank you George and PI for sponsoring this event with us.
  • This year we had a judging committee headed up by Bill Harris and his team who had a difficult job of selecting the winners who are pictured above. Full event coverage will be in Pantera International with more names and details.
  • We served 130 complimentary lunches to our guests. As last year, we enjoyed a Mexican feast with freshly cooked chicken, pork and beef with tortillas, beans, rice and tamales. We can assure you nobdy went home hungry.
  • Rick Flores' band, Earthquake provided the tunes, mostly oldies and hard-driving rock and roll. These guys can really cook.
  • Our Miss Pantera is Casey Dee Thornton, actress and model who did a great job presenting trophies and posing with the cars.
  • The Best of Show trophy was won by a great looking Group 4 tribute. Sadly, the owner left before trophies were presented and we don't know his name. His 4-foot trophy sits unclaimed.
  • We certainly had a great time and we enjoyed speaking to club members, existing and new customers and all DeTomaso enthusiasts. We had a nice showing of members with their cars from Team Pantera Orange County. We were somewhat miffed to hear that one of our competitors was handing out business cards and promoting his company on our premises, even to our customers, but, what can we say. Not very classy but they may need the business and therefore the promotion on foreign soil. Tacky!
  • Thanks a million to all who attended and we look forward to hosting another event soon.
