Specifications

The DeTomaso Pantera GT5-S is a very rare Pantera. Of course, this is not a factory GT5-S, but rather, a very well built replica by Hall Pantera. It is rendered in all steel, which is a very expensive and time consuming process, costing at least $20,000 to execute, not including paint.
Titled in California.
As a bit of history on the GT5-S, the first one was built in 1984 and shown to the public at the Turin Motor Show. It was sold later by the factory to Austria as a 1985 model. The chassis number is 9375. Nobody seems to know for sure how many were actually built between 1984 and 1990, however, there are 187 numbers between the first and last built GT5-S, including GTS cars. It is estimated that there were no more than 150 GT5-S cars built. The last factory car wears chassis number 9562.
This car was born as a GTS and is a 1983 model year, itself a rare car and very rare in this country. The last GTS of this vintage that PI Motorsports, Inc. sold was over 9 years ago and the car sold for $40,000.00.
This Pantera benefits greatly from being a late model car due to the improved build quality of the later factory cars. There are many, many differences between this car and the 1971-1074 U.S. spec. Panteras. For example, please note the square edges in the wheel houses in the engine compartment.
The motor is an all aluminum Fontana block with Blue Thunder cylinder heads and every modification you can purchase. Horsepower is estimated at 600 plus.
Polished ZF transmission.
Smoothed and painted engine bay.
Chassis rigidity kit.

Comments
Please remember that this phenomenal Pantera will not pass emissions testing as presently constituted in the State of California and perhaps other states. We are not familiar with emissions requirements outside of California. If you are contemplating purchasing this car for use other than shows, racing or off-road, you are strongly cautioned to research the requirements of your own state.
Who should consider this car? Obviously, this car is not for everybody. It is a rare car to begin with that has been improved to incredible standards. The motor alone would probably cost $40,000.00 or more to duplicate. The platform Pantera, being a 1983 would be worth $40-50,000.00 and the paint and body, a similar amount. The cost to build this car was very extravagant and the result is outstanding.
The original owner would gladly have paid $100,000.00 to have a car built to this standard and surprisingly, a great number of inferior cars have over this amount invested with not nearly the same finished result. Cars like this can take 1-2 years to build and countless hours to acquire parts, assembly, paint, engine and suspension. This car is ready to go. Can you see yourself winning best of show or issuing a spanking to other competitors at a track event? It can all happen with this fantasy flyer. Financing is available.
